A Look At Nectar Collectors

A Look At Nectar Collectors

Concentrates are taking the smoking world by storm. Nice, clean and cool vapor is easy on the lungs and incredibly flavorful. Is it any wonder people are gravitating toward dabbing? Since concentrates are gaining popularity, people are always on the hunt for fun, new, and convenient ways to dab. While dab rigs are great, they do lack in the portability department. For on-the-go dabbers, the nectar collector comes to the rescue.

What Is It?

Nectar collectors are a fashionable favorite among dabbing enthusiasts. Like a pipe, a nectar collector is made up of a neck, body, and tip. In the neck, there is often a glass whip where you inhale from. The body is the area the vapor travels through, and sometimes it is filled with water for filtration. Keep in mind that not all nectar collectors need water. There are dry collectors (often called wands) that have a straight body with no area for water. For wet nectar collectors, it’s a good idea to keep them less than half full. A quality wet nectar collector will have a diffused downstream within the main chamber. This helps by providing additional percolation and filtration.

The tip of a nectar collector is usually made of glass or titanium. Like glass dab rigs, titanium tips are a favorite among enthusiasts for their durability.

How Is It Used?

The way that you dab from nectar collectors differs slightly from using a dab rig. Instead of heating a nail to melt your concentrates, you heat the tip of the device and dip it into a small amount of concentrate that is held in a serving dish. Using a butane torch, you will heat the tip of your nectar collector until it is red hot. Let it cool to your preferred temperature before applying it to the concentrate in your serving dish. Then, you simply inhale!

Is It Right For You?

If you aren’t sold by how easy the nectar collector is to use, there are other advantages to consider. Since they easily come apart, they are super easy to keep clean. Additionally, since they do come apart, it’s possible to mix and match your parts. This allows a simple conversion if you’d like to be able to use your nectar collector for dry herbs as well.

For those that really want to be conspicuous, these devices are available in mini sizes as well. Some people find that using a miniature nectar collector helps them regulate how much concentrate they are using. They also can better control the size of their hits. These nifty little tools are especially popular for those that like to smoke socially, as it’s easy to handle and easy to pass around.

Most experienced dabbers like to keep a high-quality dab rig around the house for everyday use. However, adding a nectar collector to your arsenal is a great choice for those nights away from home!
